Stainless Steel Live Bottom Bins
Cooloff – Stainless Steel Live Bottom Bin Program (LBB), 12 units (Howlong), Design, Construct, Installation and Commissioning Works, part of a Total Project Value of $3.6Mil.
RMR Engineering were engaged to complete a Design and Construct Live Bottom Bin (LBB) Project with the Client, starting with a full-scale prototype in 2014.
The LBB unit is used as a collection and chilling hopper / LBB unit that we also installed at a Colac Abattoir.
This also involved both AutoCAD (2D), Inventor (3D) designs, drawings, Project Engineering and Management.
We have two (2) main LBB unit sizing 4,500mm & 6,000mm in length, 2,600mm in width and almost 5,000mm in total height, which can be split in half for transportation to site.
The LBB units consist of an upper collection hopper, which has eight (8) horizontal screws, driven by a manufactured gearbox arrangement, a vertical discharge screw and a 400mm knife gate, a spray bar and CIP piping system(s), roof, access ladder & platform, with a lower support frame, piping system(s) including ammonia, recirculation, hot / cold wash-down water and compressed air, as well as electrical conduiting and electrical and pneumatic cabinets, two (2) tanks and the like…
We have now completed twelve (12) LBB units of varying sizes, but all with the same relative designs.
So far the LBB units have been installed at Colac, Kyneton, Wagga Wagga, Inverell, Melbourne and the next round of installation will include Nathalia, Tamworth, Queensland, South Australia and another location near Melbourne, with other locations yet to be confirmed.
